Master Java or Learn Android?

Question

I am looking to make android apps later on in the future and I would like to know whether or not I should continue to learn java and master it completely or just learn the basics and move on to android programming. Currently, I am reading Head First Java 2nd Edition and am nearly done the book, I do understand polymorphism, encapsulation, etc.

Android programming requires only a basic knowledge of Java.

Frankly it is up to you. I would Lern Java first. it is generally a good idea to master your current language first. Before expanding to different platforms.
