With what language should I start ? I'm a beginner

I'm in an engineer school and I want to get better at programming. classes were too hard for me and I'm dissappointed with the little I could learn from it.

It depends on what you want to do and let me also say that you can start with any language. Java, C++, Python, C#, C are the quite the best programming languages out there. A lot of people suggest learning Python which is good because it has a simple syntax and it is easy to learn. But it doesn't mean you can do everything with it, it is good for AI, data science and websites. If you want to make games then Java, C# and C++ is your choice. Java is for mainly mobile android games but still can be used for Desktop. C# is good for unity game engine and it is very similar to Java except it is made by Microsoft. C++ is industry standard for game development but it is one of the hardest languages so I advice you to learn it only after you know some programming basics. So I would suggest you would start with Python to only know the basics and then move towards Java to create applications or games which is isn't really good with python. Or you can even start with Java. At the end of the day it is your choice but any language to start with isn't a problem. The main thing is to practice really, be patient, ask people for help and never give up and then you will get there. Good luck.

Tttc, You need to look at what you'll be using. What did you learn in Engineering School? That is the Language you'll start with, you need to catch up on what you've missed. It will help you a lot, even tho you might hate it, you'll learn to love it. Do it on your own pace, don't let anyone tell you what to do, you just do it! If you've thought that your teacher is the best source of information, you should try Google! It has thousands of courses on every programming language out there and you'll learn a lot too.

thanks alot for your replies !! thats actually really motivating ! I worked on python, SQL, C+ and matlab. So I guess I'll start again from there... I want to work in organizational engineering and I have come to realize that having basics skills in programming could be a real asset. thanks again!
