to make a good website you have to learn th great 3:
HTML - the bones of you website
CSS - how your web site looks like
JS - interactions withbyour website.
about backend, I am not sure

never seen anyone making a web page in a python. I think you should consider using that Html instead of Python. in Python I guess you could make some kind of app for that, but I doubt thstbyou can make a web page in it. Or can you?

Do you know HTML, CSS, Javascript?
if yes then good.
A Q&A will require a database so you have to use PHP and SQL or one of them. but for the layout it will require HTML CSS and JavaScript.
For publishing your website you will first need a domain name which is basically your site name and then a hosting service by things like hostgar or any else.
Most importantly Practice and do your Research to get best information.

@kate Wilson Like I said HTML CSS and JavaScript are essentials.
Python can be used for backend but I am not sure can it replace PHP or not.
At the end of the day: I would recommend Learn PHP because you might need it to work with Python.
So Python, PHP and SQL will do great job but for now Python and PHP alongside with the Main 3 frontend.
Don't forget to research a lot because I am not an EXPERT so try your best and good luck.

I would suggest looking for a free template online and then start building things from it. Use the editor Atom or Aptana. What type of things will your site have?
