How did you get to understand JavaScript?

It's my first time on JavaScript. JavaScript seems difficult for me to understand, despite completing the course here on SOLOLEARN, I still feel I know nothing and how to properly use it.... Is this normal? how did you get to understand JavaScript? will really appreciate your opinion.

I was in your position, i tried a lot free and paid courses (lynda, codeschool, pluralsight). But in my own honest opinion, monthly access it is good for them to make money, but bad for you. And everything depends on particular course and teacher. I like Udemy, because they have lifetime access and discounts (10$ for 200$ course). And everywhere I tried to study JavaScript. Highly recommend this course, for you, to understand JavaScript better https://www.udemy.com/understand-javascript/ i wish it would be more courses like this one

It is very normal to have such impression as in SL, you get bombarded with tones of new concepts and information at a time, as a result, you probably end up not rememberi'g a thing. my advice to u is to follow an audiovisual tutorial that demonstrates the creation of something concrete using JavaScript (a calculator, a string generator for instance, if u'r a total beginner )along with explanations as to what does what. Gradually, everything should start to have meaning.
