"codecademy" the best website for learning javascript and many other languages and w3school is very good also

u want to give a start to java script then learn basics from sololearn and then go for online pdf and Google. Sololearn teach u basics for your understanding and by using Google u can know many things which is not included in sololearn.

don't go for YouTube they may confuse u. there r some confusing videos. and the screen is also not visualised properly in some videos.
