Are you using h1? h2? h3 for heading?

To change the default h1 styling you should use css. Example: <h1 style="color:red;">A Read heading1 (Duh!)</h1> The property responsible for altering text color within css is "color". In earlier HTML versions there was an attribute called "color" however with the introduction of HTML5 this attribute is now considered depricated.
