Python is used by reddit, instagram, venmo. I've heard Java is used quite a bit in android apps. I agree, Python is a great starter language.

java is the most common language, u can find it literally anywhere ( like they say when u update it)
python is more like a starter language that introduces u to the programming
it is still very good and can be used like java to do anything
