If your question is about developing team being busy in their tasks - Coding takes hell of a time - debugging, recompiling, testing, reviews and code check ins. Mostly all developers work on deadline system. Projects have fixed timelines within which they have to be delivered. Obvious reason, they don't find time for social media in their busy schedule. But there are many developers who post their tech/non tech stuff round the clock. We cannot completely generalize people based on their online profiles. It's your time and choice. Whether you spend your free time on Internet posting statuses or with your loved ones is totally upto you.

I would like to "disagree" to your statement. Imagine this, what if tomorrow you happen to make an AI which can read through your social media activities and can determine your current state of mind(happy, sad, annoyed, indifference) in terms of percentage and also recommend you replies for a particular message. Wouldn't that make your task easier? There is lot of Business Intelligence and predictive analytics (plotting trend charts) involved in here and information industry thrive majorly on intelligence. You cannot ignore social media at all costs.

I agree with your answer with certain points but they are not very much active in social media. They are busy with their tasks whole time. They get complain from their friends to be very inactive in social media.

Social Media in general is a waste of time. I get nothing out of checking up on what pointless activities people have recently been up to, and I have zero interest in watching "viral" videos or cheesy images of cats. Honestly, the moment I hear/read that something has gone "viral", or "trending", I lose all interest. Social media has the power to turn us all into mindless zombies. I want nothing to do with it. And I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything, either, so...meh. Big, fat meh.

Even if we get time, then we think that instead of wasting time in social media,we can do other things.
