Tomorrow I turn 17, is it normal to feel like this? 😔

Tomorrow I turn 17! And am not happy, I feel like for 17 years on this earth, and am still dumb! 😔 I think i know a lot but I feel like I don't know anything! I just wanted to be a living human hard drive in the field of IT, I wanted to be the best! I wanted to change the world some how! At 17 I haven't changed the life of a single soul! I don't know enough! and that makes me feel bad! should I be feeling like this? 😔

Honestly it's common to feel overwhelmed like that over your life. Don't let it ruin your birthday though. I'm not that much older really and I sometimes feel the same way. I'm pretty dang good at programming, but sometimes I lack in areas like advanced calculus - and sometimes it frustrates me when I don't grasp those concepts that others seem to easily get around me here on campus (super annoying). I mean I won't be working in those fields in programming all that much, but I feel as though I'm supposed to understand that 100%. All I do on a day to day basis is study and make programs for assignments, not very exciting in terms of accomplishment. But it gradually prepares me for my future job. As long as I don't give up, I'll eventually get into a position where I feel like I'm doing something. So because I don't give up, you're not allowed to either! I promise you that no programmer or person here doesn't feel that way at least at some point in their life. If they say otherwise, they're in complete denial. I don't really wanna keep ranting because it'll be all very cliche or something. X.x

At least you are not part of those people in your age group who die for cool selfie sht (Quoting @UniQ on Discord). You are 17, your responsibility is to get an education and change yourself, before thinking about changing the lives of others. Contrary to sugar-coated advices, it is not OK to feel or be dumb. Set a reasonable target and try to learn something new everyday in order to progress closer towards your goal.

thanks @Sapphire I wasn't planning on giving up anytime soon! 😊 According to Elen Mush, for me to give up, I'd either have to be dead, or complete incapacitated! 😊

Go out! In some countries, with 17 you're allowed to drink, Get drunk with friends, girls and enjoy. Even a human hard driveneeds a restart once in a while. Bithday is always a good occasion.

You haven't changed anyone's life at 17. That's not bad in any way, as a matter of fact, it's good. At 17, you gotta develop yourself to your limits. Then change others. And don't feel bad.
