Do I stop or continue?

Hello guys! I am 17 years old and I got keen on programming since like one year ago. Up to now I am confident to say that I have some knowledge in HTML and CSS. I am also learning C# but there I know the basics only ( like using if, for loops, arrays and list ) and can create basic games or programs for example in winforms using Visual Studio. The problem is that I am not so great at Math and I am not sure if I can keep up with the others in college and get a degree. If I take a lot of private lessons can I

Practicing is the key. Sure, maths helps a bit, but you can't catch the flow if you don't make your own code. Man, at 17 you still have a lot of time to catch up with the math thing ;)

First off, I'm naturally horrible at math. However, I've been programming since I was a young teen, and the past decade professionally. I'm a big fan of "If you don't have the resources, be resourceful." There is plenty of means of getting around the math thing, as there is plenty of resources to do so. Although, that doesn't mean that you label yourself as "the guy that's bad at math" and don't put the effort into changing that. I failed math throughout school and I went on to fail it 3 times at college. I was always "the guy that's bad at math" and that's what I would always tell myself, just like you are right now. However, I didn't give up on it, even though it wasn't my natural strength. I failed it in college, so I took it again. Failed, took it again. Failed, took it again and this time it finally started to come together. After taking it so much, I figured out a way that math works -for me-. When I explain how I do math out loud, it sounds backwards to most people, and they're not sure how/why I do it how I do it, BUT it makes sense in my head and it gives me the correct answer, so it works out. lol Point is, don't give up and turn your weaknesses into strengths. Talk to the teachers, professors, tutors, etc... Talk to people online. Practice it every day. Bust your ass so hard to learn math that you have no choice but to learn it. The only thing that can stop or hold you back is yourself. I have faith in you. Walking was hard for us when we were still crawling, but we kept at it and look at us now? Best of luck to you bro! Make sure you spend your time on the right things in life, and don't waste it away on things that don't and won't matter.

If it's what you love, let me share a quotation: "Til my flesh from my bones be hacked, bring me my armour." It means don't give up. I'm terrible at mathematics, but I won a coding competition in 2011. Coding is about problem solving, nothing more. Solving mathematical problems are what computers are for.

Netkos, that's so inspiring man. I am trying to learn algorithms but I am no good at maths either. Every day or other, I feel like quitting but the love for programming and some inspiring stories from people like you motivates me to keep going. Kudos man! for not running away from failure and taking it head on. That takes guts. I have nothing but Respect for you !
