no, raspbian is a operating system (OS) like windows, Linux etc. and raspberrypi is a computer but small one (: you need an OS for running a computer. so, you need raspbian for running raspberrypi. after that, may be one day, you want to automate some things. and you will type "sudo apt-get install python3" on terminal(if not installed). that's it (: by the way, sorry about my language, I'm working on it.
