Is anyone else lost with Python?

Question

i am a beginner. i went through HTML and css and it was ok. Started Python and ... i am lost now when i got to the middle of the course.should i keep going? will learning more languages help? need experienced advice please.

Keep going! ✊ And don't give up yet! Some programming concepts are hard to understand for beginners at the first time. But when you repeat the lessons and try to use them in some code you will see how easy it actual is.

As a rookie in python I give you the advice that a friend gave me: know what your goal is, why are you learning that. Then, found the best language to that goal, and stay with until you can "speak it" fluently. Learning multiple languages at the same time is hard, no matter if they are spanish, english and chinese or html, python and c#.

So, focus on your goal and choose a path. Once you are sure this is the right way, focus on it. Soon enough the efforts will be rewarded ;)

hi Hector! thank you so much for your response! but how do i choose that one language? i mean i know that i would love to become a great programmer and make a living of it. but how do i know what am i good at if i have no idea about any language just yet? thank you for your input

This is a link to a book I read when I started learning Python. There are many nice little exercises at the end of each chapter and in my opinion it explains the concept of programming in general very well. I did a lot of the coding exercises and I think it has helped me a lot to jump right in the world of coding. Did I mention it's free 😉

You'll have plenty of time to learn all of them. But programming is a large, enormous world. In my case, I'm learning programming because I'll need it as a secondary skill in my work, as a flexible tool to process some information and automate some activities. For that, and because is an used language in the field, I choose Python as my first tool.

Which is your case? You want to begin with some web or desktop programming?? As I see the answer is "Both!!", which of them think will be more rewarding in the near future?

i am happy to hear that you are in a right track with your career and i hope you will rock programming as well. in my case ...i am open to anything at this point because i have not done anything involving programming in my life. and i am pretty bored with my career (business and travel industry).so why won't i learn programming i thought :) i feel excited about general idea and trying to get the taste of it on this app for now since i am spending so much time on the phone anyway
