SQL is "English". Oracle SQL is "American English" ;)

SQL is just the basic language itself. then you have different dialects (aka flavors) that are "spoken" to different database programs (such as those mentioned in a previous comment). Learn the concepts of SQL and it will be easier to fine tune your syntax. from there you can learn the program functionalities specific to the flavor chosen. my advice: if you're trying to figure out which one to learn, do some research. while Microsoft SQL Server is only the 3rd most popular choice, there is a higher demand for DBAs that speak T-SQL than those who do not. Mysql and NoSQL are also in high demand.
