SoloLearn Downvote button should be removed

some people go about down-voting posts nilly-willy. It's ridiculously justified on the basis that the post is not a question. Sure, this isn't Facebook, but any post here that's even the littlest bit sololearn or code-related is justified. Maybe SL should request a reason for giving a downvote from everyone who wants to do so.

I would like to see downvotes in a seperate column. Ie, not affecting the amount of upvotes. then they could be relevant in a way. Upvote if my code works, downvote if not, for instance

I think the downvote button should be preserved, but the downvoters should not be given the benefit of anonymity. That said, I also agree with @Russel's idea of separating upvote and downvote counts.

@Bobo, I totally agree with you.. @James, when i first joined Sololearn (less than two weeks ago) I was clueless about anything programming related. The only previous programming experience i had came from an app called Tynker (It used a drag & drop method to teach coding fundamentals without specifically teaching any programming language) Coming here, the only programming language I even knew the name of was Java. So, Yes, I did ask what is the best programming language to learn. Now I realize that was a silly question to ask, but then I didn't know any better. We should all just ignore these parts we don't care to reply to, instead of downvoting them. And the only posts that should be reported are offensive ones or the ones that spark controversy.

And you're right about the 'famous' members getting more leniency on their unrelated posts...

And for some reason, four people have downvoted this post. I really don't get it.. 😕😕😕

Totally agree with you coz report is enough. The bad thing is when someone "famous" posts something "downvoted unusually" he gets upvote instead of downvote!

@James but we have to be patient with beginners. Sometimes they don't have a good language to ask or they are too young maybe.

@James You're right about stupid questions and I also was writing on that theme so I'll try to be short this time. Your downvotes won't help to much against those questions, cause there are lot of people like them that will upvote it even if it included 0 google search. We can do like stack overflow did, and require at least basic understanding of problem in order to help, but this community is still small to do that, questions like these are rare, everyone just asks and waits for finished code. However, you can't do nothing until this community is bigger, so for now downvotes don't do what they should.

I totally agree with you, many people (including me) never downvote question, if i think it is stupid I just scroll over. And sometimes I also get random downvotes for good answers. Also idk why they downvote this, it is your opinion and no one can blame you for that.
