C++ is a multipropose language. You can create any program in it. Yes I mean that. ANY.
Is difficult to thing about a program you can not do in c++.

As Ulisses said, is practically every program what you could do on C++, but it's your decision to use it or not, for example, I prefer using Java because it's more portable.

The common use of C++ is for making games because of its power wich is for my personal opinion higher than Java.
