What's your preferred multi-platform language?

With the ability to shared codebase and have your code work on web, mobile, and PC, what languages and frameworks do you prefer to use and why?

I used PhoneGap (now Cordova) in early 2012 and while it did the job it felt bloated and slow. The actual experience of making it work was great, but I felt the user experience wasn't the best. This may have been my own fault as I was submitting data (forms, pictures, etc.) to a dedicated server I was using at the time.

What I'm asking is this: if you were to use one language, and various frameworks as needed, to make applications for PC, web, and mobile, what would you use and why? What frameworks have you used to make this possible?
