You have to understand that Java and JavaScript are COMPLETELY different. Java is an "all-rounder", "write one, run anywhere" language. It is used on many different devices. Android is based on Java, and so are many desktop apps.

On the other hand, JavaScript is used for web pages. It, combined with php, is what makes a website tick.

javaScript is unripe, so java is better but I think JavaScript will be the best in the future :)
