Javascript for mobile app development

I am planning to develop a mobile app using crodova/phonegap/ionic and for that I need to learn JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Is that a better approach as compared to developing native apps and learning multiple languages?

In short: That depends upon your area of interest Learning HTML JS CSS you can develop mobile + web apps. Learning Java + Android => Native apps and server side codings.

Better - No [Native apps always perform better] Cost/Effort Effective - Yes [Same app can be deployed to iOS/Android/Windows]

Yes, I agree that native apps are better in terms of performance and stability but I'm looking at a faster learning curve as compared to learning 2 different programming languages.
