Should we end likestorm season 2?

I have won 3 badges which are really hard to get it, and do not know if I deserve them... They dont give a lot of XP. But many people started to ask for likes... I just gave likestorms there, but I gave it to people who deserved them... The Coder posted a similar thread and I agree with him... I also agree with @Maz which gave a good answer. Likes are supposed to be for good answers, arent they? What do you think? Should we end it? https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/365105/?ref=app

The problem with indiscriminately liking all answers/codes/comments of a user just because he or she posted in a certain thread or liked all your stuff is, that it pushes answers by users, who do not engage in such behaviour, down. The default sorting of answers still goes by likes and I have seen many quality answers close to the bottom of the thread, while a not so well thought out comment (or one that's plainly wrong) garnered insane amounts of likes. I guess SoloLearn is to blame for that, as the way they set up the XP and badge system strongly incentivises these shenanigans. The thing is, even if some people opt out, the storms will not stop unless SL comes up with a way to moderate them. But all that aside, it will probably improve the content in Q&A if some people decide to leave the easy route and get their XP/likes by being helpful and use their upvotes to push up the good answers.

I now also agree with you all that only those who deserve to be stormed should only be stormed. It will be similar to wasting time storming those who don't deserve to be.
