Is it good to know different languages or stick to one language and master it?

I want to know if its good to stick to one language

try and master at least one language with its own supporting database. but having knowledge of another language can sometimes be necessary.

Most languages follow a very similar syntax and programming style. so migrating from one language to another can sometimes be easy if you know ins and outs of one particular language.
