How successful has SoloLearn been at teaching you to code for web based projects?

I've recently chugged through the fundamentals of HTML and CSS but I feel as if I learned nothing. What shouls the next step be after learning the basics?

just try to create something like normal one-page website first. its a best practice

It is as simple as doing it. This app has shown you where to start now starting with html make a simple markup with no style. then once you understand that add some simple style (css). You have to start doing it now and it will all start to come together. Do not hesitate to go back and redo the lessons. the first steps are right here my friend you just need to start the climb.
