What code language would be best to start at for a total beginner?

I am a total beginner. I only started learning to code a few days ago with a friend of mine. We are currently doing an online course on HTML and CSS. I have read a lot that coding is not easy, and anyone who says it is is not being entirely truthful. It would mean a lot if I could get some tips from more experienced coders on where to begin. Is beginning at HTML and CSS the best course of action? And also, what are the prospects of me being a successful coder if I am learning to code online?

I recommend Python programming it's a easier syntax to read and requires less code to be written than others and you don't have to worry about (;) Goodluck and it's also fast do to the vast selection of libraries.

Besides HTML and CSS, choose one more language eg Javascript. Focus on that chosen language, learn it well. Do a lot of code practising. Code playground is a good place to practise.
