Badge in the profile of Sololearn

Actually i am a new user for Sololearn,
Slowly i understood About the interface and the lessons
When i came to leaderboard there i saw Badges in front of the names
In 3 types Gold,silver,bronze colors What are the purposes of those badges?

these are badges for virtual achievement and do not alter the functioning of the app.
