What is Streak Saver?

Question

I noticed something new on my profile, it is called Streak Saver. What is it exactly and how does it work? I find it to be cheating to be honest if you can just pay to get a day marked as completed instead of actually completing a lesson that day, so what is the point? It is not really that hard to stay active once a day but of course, if something should happen let us say, with our internet connection (and we are powerless to fix it), then that would be a bummer!

It keeps your streak if you broke it, it doesn't add to it. I see no point in it really. I don't always do a lesson a day, I practice concepts, work on projects and learn other coding bits instead

My advice: Ignore the streak mechanism, and learn at your own pace. It conditions people to crave the proxy reward and rush through a lesson, or even cheat, to get it, blowing the whole reason they probably came here in the first place, which was to learn something.

I'm sure the designers had good intentions, but human psychology is too easily misdirected by anything that triggers a tiny dopamine squirt on a regular basis.

Good thing is if you can't complete lesson in a day then you loss your day streak so there is no way for cheating.
