Recommended coding language to start?

I'm new to coding and wanting to enter the tech field and become a Software Engineer. As someone without any coding experience, I'm wanting to know what languages are highly recommended to learn in order to progress faster and gain knowledge.

Try python as it easy to learn programming as starter.
But if you want become strong at basics so that it helps to learn any language or technology later then i suggest you to start with C, it's beginners friendly. (If you can put effort Java is also a better option.)

It also depends on your goals or may vary person to person.
If you want go with web development then you can start with html, then css, Java Script are basic languages to learn.
