Why doesn't the playground recognize my code?

Question

I've been trying to upload a console js program that works perfectly fine on my console but when I copy it on the playground, it kinda doesn't recognize it. The first statement of the program is a 'const' declaration and it brings up some syntax error(unexpected token) . Also it automatically erases all the back ticks in the code. Any idea what's going on here?
