C# is an object oriented programming language much like java while C is a structural programming language. To me that is the biggest difference. The syntax is not that different though

In general it's 2 absolutely different programming languages with more or less common syntax. That is if you happen to know C it's fairly easy to jump in C#. Under the hood C# is more related to Java though.

if you want to learn one of the languages you should definetly learn C# because C has become obsolete C# is an upgraded version of C but has more features and is used today. Go for C# . you wont regret it .

I would suggest you to learn C#, because nowadays everything is object based and you can't run from that. Again the main task when learning a programing language is learning to think, after this everything else is not so important imo.

C had portability problems and the programs generated by it were processor specific so to remove this problem C# was introduced by Microsoft for the .Net framework. it removes this problems and also provides many additional features.
