Hypen, em dash, and dash difference

Hello, in folder naming for websites, what should I use? Hypen em dash or dash? I already searched and google tell that I should use hypen. But can someone tell how to type them? I know one of them is this: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 - = backspace That minus sign.. Is that a hypen? If not, how to type hypen? And how to type em dash and dash? Using keyboard. Thanks so much

Hyphen and minus symbols are same. Cheque the ASCII code but dash is another thing and are of 2 types. - (minus/hyphen) – (en dash) — (em dash)

Always prefer the simplest chars - the ones anyone can type easily. If you ever ask "how to type this", avoid it in files and directory names. They bring non obvious headaches.

Thanks so much, so hypen is the answer, and em dash and dash are not needed for programming.
