I think your 1st project should be exciting to you. Think about a problem you want to solve or a fun game to play. Make that project like you hobby.

Some I ideas:

1) a board game (chess)
2) a calculator with functioning buttons
3) a chat app

At the end you must have a project you can be proud of.
