How does XML helps, while creating a website?

how can we use XML in website & how does it work? How to connect it?

Well, XML is also markup language like html. Means client side. Xml --> extensible markup language. It uses for creating sitemap, api, rss feed and many more thing. But not webpage (But Not Have knowledge, I know you can style XML element, I did not try this thing. Sorry I am not that knowledgeable). Anyway, you can say this as Godfather of html.
