Why do I sometimes loose more XP than announced?

Sometimes I loose 20 or maybe 30 XP after a challenge. But when I accepted it, the announced stake was 1 or 3 XP. Anyone else can relate? Do you have an explanation? Thanks a lot, and good practice to everyone ;)

Losing XP = 32 - Winning XP. E.g. "Winner gets 7 XP", meaning that losing will cost you 25 XP loss (if no question bonus is gained). The XP gain message is different for both sides of the challenge - E.g. If you get 7XP for winning over your opponent, your opponent would receive display of earning 25 XP if he wins. The XP system is based on the winning/losing ratio of both sides. The higher the gradient, the less XP you gain, the the more XP you lose upon losing a match.

That is the only way we get or lose XPs...that's a sucking feature of Sololearn😕 but I love it:)

Thanks for these explanations! It seems that the formula Losing XP = 32 - Winning XP from Hatsy Rei is quite correct (as for what I've seen today while playing...)

I was also curious about the XP system because when you for example start a challenge with someone 5 levels under yours, the challenge display "Winner earn 1xp"... I don't think someone lower that much only earn 1xp.
