I consider html+css+javascript to be one language: html&friends. you can be challenged in that. you could be challenged individually on those languages but it'd be boring.

Well, not necessarily. I mean sure you can challenge people in coding languages but most languages for example HTML and CSS with some JavaScript and etc, they go hand in hand to make a really awesome website or websites.
