How to follow friend?

I could not find where to follow except using discussion to show profile for following.

Go to your profile page/section and on the top-right corner you will find a "Add friend" icon, click that and search for your friend name and hit follow.

You can search other users on your feed section.

There is a button called "Discover Peers" (near publish post), just search for the username and click Follow at the upper-right of his/her profile.
