[ General Question ] How much can we trust social apps for our privacy and security protection ?

And is that possible that someone can use an image with injected Malicious Code in it as a profile photo for Social Media apps to do the black hat hacking works?

Yes, it is possible to embed malicious code into a picture. But those type of exploits is usually zero-day patched by many browsers.

You can absolutely trust social media apps to take all your private information, no matter how inappropriate or immoral for them to do so. They earn money by selling targeted advertisement space. https://www.wsj.com/articles/you-give-apps-sensitive-personal-information-then-they-tell-facebook-11550851636?mod=article_inline
