Just burn a Linux iso file in USB flash.Boot from it next time you restart your PC.Firsty you need to do partition on your windows operating system to left required size for the new os.See any video tutorial before proceeding in installation because this is risky at all to damage your windows partition if you don't know the correct way to install Linux within windows. You can just use VMware or virtual box to install virtual machines instead .

Burn any linux distro iso file to a USB drive or a CD. Then restart your PC while keeping that boot drive plugged in. After boot is completed you'll see a menu where you can either run linux in live mode without affecting any content on harddrive( which is bit slower than one installed on harddrive), or you can either install it on harddrive as mentioned by HBhZ_C
