Can I be a Software Engineer?

I am studying Mathematics at college. Is it possible to be a Software Engineer from Math major? Many say to be a Software Engineer you have to study computer science at college! What's the truth?

No need to study computer science. You just need to learn some programming languages and these languages are freely available on the internet even some people provides online certification course. You can do it and apply anywhere for the job.

I was from the Electronics Background. There were not much computer science subjects but today now I am a Sr. Software Engineer.

I am not acquainted with the Bangladeshi hiring process. But if many are saying it, there might be some truth in it.

If being a Software Engineer is what you aspire, I think it is best to transition to Computer Science if you "can".
