Game Development

What would be the easiest or best to start with for game development? This app does not help with game development but at least it teaches the basics... Finally, with a degree in programming, where would a person work?

python is an easy language to use, but it is slow so it isn't used for intensive games. On the other end of the spectrum c++ is extremely fast, but hard to learn.

Not really related to the question but there is a guy on tumblr called "Ask a game dev". He is, as his name says, a game developer and although he doesnt teach you anything about programimg he can help you avoid mistakes once you learn how to program on your own

What kind of games would Python be used for? 2D or RPG games? I'm looking more for Unity and games that are 3D
