Which is the best coding language to create a basic app?

Hi,
I am a beginner coder and wants to continue my carrier as a coder. When I browsed through major social media and YouTube, I was more confused. Because it made me in a dilemma which language to learn. I knew some basic html codes so I started the html course in Sololearn. But it was later that I found out that html is only for building webpages. So can anyone recommend me the best coding language to build a simple application?
