Python is pre-installed on many Linux distribution. On Ubuntu 20.04, Python3.8 is the default, for instance. Some other distribution are still relying on Python3.6 (and Python2.7, which is now obsolete).

Yeah, Python 3.8 is currently the latest version of Python.
