That all depends on a couple of things. Where will you be using these skills? If you are planning on making programming your career, then you should decide which 'programming path' to take. You could develop websites, apps, databases, or other computer related things. Lets assume you are going into website development, as PHP is a program used in website creation. You should build websites either for yourself, or for others, as a way to build on your skill. Use different languages in conjunction with PHP like JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and others to make interesting websites. This will force you to learn new ways to design, giving you more experience, making you a better programmer. All in all, you should find what programming languages you can personally use in your area of development and get very good at those languages. This takes time, so make sure that programming is your future career if you want to get serious.

But also make sure to explore all your options, nowadays everyone and there brother is going into Web Development, this means it can be a competitive field, this doesn't diminish it's merit at all, but just make sure you know Web Development is best for you. That being said, most languages are similar, there will always be while loops, if statements, etc. So switching from one language to another isn't necessarily that difficult. As its more important to understand the principles than memorize the syntax or the language specific details that can be easily researched. Personally I'm more of a software development guy, but Web dev is a very solid place to build a career.
