in scripting language we write programs that works with events and conditions whereas HTML is only used to create the visual interface and nothing else

A scripting language means that you are executing instructions, while a markup language isn't composed of instructions, but of description of content inside content, used for encode how to display this content: as other language it is parsed by an interpreter, but don't run a program itself... JS is used for that, and is a scripting language in meaning it's not a compiled one... Anyway, what make confuse, is that 'script' is used in different contexts: as well as meaning of source code ( so html code is a script, as well as js, or anyelse language ) than as hint between different type of programming languages ^^

HTML is a markup language, because it's only for visual purposes, but idk anything abou scripting languages. Hope this helps a bit
