If you want to really understand the way most programming languages work you should start with C. Then you will understand the fondamentals of programming and the way the computer processes your code...doing so, others languages will look more accessible to you and you will learn faster.
More advanced concepts are so much easier to understand if you deeply know the basic ones, everything is built on them.
