Getting a job with web development.

Someone recently told me that knowing web development doesn't really make it easier to get a job. This person is a very good web developer and he said it hasn't really fetched him money. I don't like this news because that's the reason why I'm learning it in the first place. The reason he gave was that with WordPress, one would not need a web developer to build a website. And that WordPress can almost replace a web developer. I want to know how true this is, because there'll be no point in learning web development if WordPress can replace you. And consequently no one would hire you.

What you say is true but there is still quite a high demand for good web devs in some areas. In other places with large populations there might be an oversupply of people with this skill which is bad news for job seekers. Networking with those in the industry may help.

In my opinion, wordpress can not replace us. As far as I have learned wordpress, you can access the code and css too. So in wordpress too, for making such modifications you need to know web development.

Fasasi Sherif knowing WordPress is plus. But everyone should learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript. These are fundamentals. May be WordPress replace web developer. But now MERN stack is most popular. React is very popular in front-end. I think React cannot be replaced by WordPress. Node.js is best for back-end. For larger applications you will need to learn MEAN stack. You can not handle very large applications by WordPress.

That's what i said 🇮🇳Vivek🇮🇳 .... Read the last line of my answer which says you need to know web development. What I basically mean to say is that one should know web development, even if wordpress is available cuz in wordpress too at many a times you need to make modifications in the code for designing appropriate layout and you can only do so if you know how to do basic html, css, javascript programming. I do agree with you that wordpress cannot handle large applications.

This is a good question... I think that really good web devs are able to have good jobs. If you’re really interested in making money, though, you could check out learning something like cybersecurity or react native.

Artificial Intelligence can't completely replace humans for now. So please don't pay attention. You're good. Just focus on skills, not money.
