Test cases are hidden for mods too, it prevents unfair way of doing challenges as if test cases are known then anyone can pass test cases by making code for those test cases only instead of solving the challenge.

~ swim ~ for me most of the times hidden cases are pissed but sample case are failed which make me easily solved. It's good to have hidden Case

Hidden for all. Private test cases are made so that you wouldn't hardcore your solution to display certain results and are hence, an essential factor in making good coding challenges.

So yeah, there's no point in giving mods the unfair advantage of being able to hardcode the solutions ~ swim ~.
