Is python 2.7 still getting updates?

I have heard in multiple tutorials that while 2.7 is the most used version of Python currently, 3.x is the future. My question is whether 2.7 still gets regular updates by the foundation or has it been left in favor of 3.x?

Only bug fixes and security patches, but nothing new. I dont remember where I read it but I think they will keep fixing bugs till 2020 when 2.7 will be officially dead.
