What to code for Payment Gateway?

i want to add donation option in an NGO site. any user can come and donate for NGO.

i want to know how that payment gateway works??
what to code for that??

you shouldn't code something like that on your own, because the security will probably be 💩, however there are already finished codes which you can implement with 2 lines of code and it will work correctly

It won't be right to just ask for the code for something. At the very least, make an attempt to learn all what you need to know. Try to analyse what you desire to accomplish, and plot out the individual components bit by bit. Solve one problem at a time. I haven't dived into server side programming but I can guess you need it. A money system like maybe BitCoin or PayPal (I don't know), can be used. An alternative is to use sites like Patreon. Have an advertisement medium like a site that links to your Patreon page.
