i have not any idea about c/c++ but i’m currently a machine learning (AI) student. first i started with python after that i learnt some of its important modules like numpy, pandas, matplotlib/ seaborn , and the real part of ML starts from openCV (a computer vision framework from intel) , i learnt that and currently i’m learning tensorflow (by google)

Well I am with the same interest of building and AI and according to me c++ is the best language ever made for AI development, although it's not beginner friendly, totally Manuel etc.. it gives you so much control even over small things like data types. It comes with various features and can be interlinked with any programming languages in the world. It can easily handle heavy workload which I guess is the main task for a AI For me c++ is the best

Python is preferred for AI. C++ for computer vision. Why python? Because there are many libraries already available. In general either of the language suit as long as you don't spend time in developing library which already exists for python. Also knowing language is just an add on tool for AI. Math is equally important to succeed in AI. AI is broad domain. Hope this helps.
