web development is for the back end work... web design is for the front end.. like designing logos , dealing with various UI effects.... development deals with how data comes and goes in a website...

Web design is mostly logos and art. Development is more coding and structure. Most of the times designers know at least the essentials of coding and developers know the essentials of Photoshop and those things..

Web design is simply one of the process steps in Web Development. For practical purposes, we can say that "Web Development is the conceptual framework for creating and managing Websites." Web Development can be divided into 8 practical process steps...: 1. Web Planning: the practice of identifying and specifying the reasons and objectives of a proposed website (What? Why? Who? When?). *Website Personnas* 2. Web Content: the gathering, organization and formatting of the proper content for a proposed website. *Content Inventory* 3. Web Design: the practice of originating the creative layouts for aesthetics and functional purposes. This step focuses on information architecture and design, interaction and navigation design, interface and visual design... *Wireframe* 4. Web Coding: the practice of full stack development - Front-end (HTML, CSS & JavaScript), Back-end (PHP, or ASP.NET, or Ruby on Rails), and Database (SQL). We focus on Browsers & Devices Compatibility, Web Accessibility, Device-Responsive Design, etc. 5. Web Testing 6. Web Hosting 7. Web Publicity 8. Website Management >>> we can fill the remaining gaps...! ^^~^^

Never understimate designers. Good design is 60% of website. Designer, who's able to explain UI interactions without words, only with design - it's like a preciuos gem.

i think, web design is about the design side... placement of design element on a web page like colors, images, content, user experience. How the website looks. web development deals with how the website works, like creating links, navigation, forms and all the interactive stuff and theres also things that deal with the server side to the website which is the back end, code you use to run on the server like data bases etc... like facebook and may be even this app might have one too. different to the front end which deals with the client side... programming code to work in the browser etc... i hope that sounds right, if not, some one else will explain it better than me. ok good luck and happy coding! lol

Web development is pretty much all the back end stuff, like all the interactive features on your page. Web Design is all of the websites design. Stuff to make it look bootiful.

I think web development is about coming up with a website but web design focuses on more features added up to website
