Not at all. It’s popular because it makes it easier, but it is in no way required. Standard JavaScript & a <canvas> tag is all you need. Take 「ＨＡＰＰＹＴＯＨＥＬＰ」 ‘s code as an example: https://code.sololearn.com/WM7g8z60dAKs/?ref=app IMO one of the very best games on this app, and just Vanilla JS
