Will something replace java?

This idea occurred to me when I was reading https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/1653697/?ref=app.

While it is completely possible, coding languages are unique and have their own separate uses. For mobile applications, Kotlin (which is based off of Java) is being used more and more frequently. So from a mobile standpoint, Java may be slowly replaced my Kotlin. Overall however, I'm sure it will still be widely used for years. It has numerous uses and there are many developers that work with it. In the future, Java could be replaced but I don't see it happening soon.

Everything eventually dies, but often the need doesn't. So yes, it's likely that at some point, something will replace Java.
